Confucius Institute Opening Ceremony

On April 19, 2018, the Opening Ceremony of the Confucius Institute at the University of Luxembourg was held, jointly established by Fudan University and the University of Luxembourg. This event was attended by Stephane Pallage, Rector of the University of Luxembourg; Ms. Jiao Yang, Chairperson of the Fudan University Council; Mr. Huang Changqing, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Luxembourg; Marc Hansen, Minister of Higher Education and Research of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg; but also people from all walks of life in Luxembourg and Chinese representatives.

The date of the opening was wisely chosen, because it also marks the 46^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Luxembourg, and as for now the establishment of the seventh Confucius Institute in collaboration with Fudan University, and the first one in Luxembourg.

The establishment of the Confucius Institute at the University of Luxembourg will promote and deepen the cultural exchanges between China and Luxembourg and further promote the friendly exchanges between China and Luxembourg, with the support of Fudan University and the University of Luxembourg. The cooperation between the two universities in teaching, scientific research, exchanges between teachers and students will be an opportunity to gradually expand.
